Ethylene Oxide (EtO) is a cancer-causing gas that IS STILL being emitted by Midwest Sterilization in Laredo, TX  2025.

🧪 3 independent studies have been conducted by the (EPA, RGISC, & TCEQ). They all found significant amounts of EtO in the air, with the highest levels overnight and closest to the plant.

😷 Studies have shown the following Health Risks associated with Continuous, long-term exposure: Breast cancer, lymphoid cancer, & respiratory issues

📉 TCEQ’s own study showed how harmful ETO is, and now even the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering & Medicine say TCEQ’s new methods lack of application of systematic review methods, the exclusion of critical epidemiological data, the limitations in the modeling approach and use of unpublished validation data all contribute to a lack of confidence in TCEQ's risk assessment of ethylene oxide.

Our Health Department acknowledges that Laredo lacks the tools to monitor this threat, but this isn't over. We deserve clean air and transparency, we shouldn't be the sacrifice just because the rules on regulation are different in border cities than non-border cities.
